Are there any traits that successful people possess? Do they have a common denominator that they have in order to achieve success? Do they have special types of skills that they use daily that we are not aware about?
In order to achieve success, you must have good and successful habits. Tony Robbins calls this a ritual but really, it’s a habit. The study of habits has been around for many years. Great personal development leaders such as Jim Rohn, Brian Tracy, Zig Ziglar, Darren Hardy and more all talk about a thing called habits.
If you think about it, everything we do on a daily basis is comprised of habits. The way we brush our teeth, the way we drive to work, the way we do things, the way we respond to events and circumstances and the way we take action.
Everything we do is a habit. It’s those habits that we do, they can either be good or bad. For example, eating chocolate bars every single day, is that a good habit to have? I don’t think so. How about going to the gym every day and working out a sweat, is this a good habit? I believe so.
If habits control our lives and essentially our destiny, then it’s a wise decision to figure out what our bad habits are and replace them with good habits. We can even install brand new habits into our lives simply by repeating the same action over and over again for the next 30 days.
I’ve tried this in the past, I’ve tried to install new habits that were good and it took me around 30 days before it just became second nature. These days, if I don’t go to the gym, I feel very strange. Exercising every day for me is part of my life and it’s so integrated into my lifestyle.
Blogging has now become a habit. At the start of the year, I decided I wanted to make blogging a habit and to continually write articles into my blog every single day. This would essentially build enough content that will drive so much traffic to my site and hence I can easily monetize it.
Good habits? I think so.
So what are the winning habits of successful people? After much research, study and investigation into finding out what successful people do on a daily basis that makes them so successful, I’ve decided quite a few habits that they all have in common.
By understanding an learning about their habits, we can pick and chose the habits we want, install them into our lives and as a result, we’ll achieve the same results as them.
A millionaire would have many different habits compared to someone who doesn’t earn that much. If you wanted to become a millionaire, you’ll need to figure out how people have achieved this goal and you’ll need to copy them to achieve what you want. One of these things you’ll need to copy are their habits.
So here it is, the list of winning habits of highly successful people.
As long as we live in a capitalistic society, money will always be a factor of importance. Zig Ziglar once said that money may not be everything, but it sure does rank high up there with oxygen. Successful people know this, they understand that if they manage their money every single day, they will get ahead.
They manage their personal finances, they have the habit of saving money, they have the habit of analyzing investment opportunities and they have the habit of working on opportunities that make money.
Successful people are good with money and can achieve their goals because they have acquired it through their money habits.
Work every day
Successful people work incredibly hard towards their goals. Not only they work hard, they work every single day towards their goals. Let’s face it, it won’t take you 1 step to build a successful business, it takes time, hard work and dedication to make something successful.
Successful people keep working hard at their goals every single day.
Successful people see opportunity that many people do not see. By having an opportunist type personality, they use their minds to create opportunities and seize them. Instead of being pessimistic, they are usually optimistic towards many things and hence they reap what they sow.
For example, many business people would see the recession as a bad time for business. However successful business owners see this as an opportunity because while other competitors stop advertising because of the recession, advertising prices drop immensely.
Newspapers, magazines and online medias all have at least 50% off advertising rates and positions available due to the amount of businesses pulling out. Successful business owners see this as an opportunity and they run large and cheap advertisements getting more customers than ever before.
They are an opportunist.
Nothing replaces persistence. There is no way you can avoid failure in life. J K Rowling once said that you can’t avoid failure and if you live your life so cautiously that you can never fail, then you really never lived, which makes you a failure by default.
When the going gets tough, many people would just give up and move on. Successful people are incredibly persistent and exhaust all opportunities and options before they consider throwing in the towel.
The CEO of FedEX was once down to his last $3,000 and he needed to pay his employees the following week. He took his remaining money, went to Las Vegas and made over $30,000 back. The following day, he came back and paid his bills and got back to work.
You must be persistent and make this a winning habit.
All successful people have goals. They think on paper and they have big goals and dreams they want to achieve. I’ve never met any successful person who didn’t have a goal. All successful people have goals and they create plans that move them closer to achieving them.
Goals are the backbone of the successful person and they work their plans every single day.
Successful people never make excuses and blame outside circumstances. They understand that if life were to get easier, they would need to get better. If they mismanaged their finances, then that was not the economy fault, it wasn’t’ the governments fault, it was their responsibility to look after the finances before it became a disaster.
By using successful habits in your life, one day you’ll honestly look back and won’t believe how far you’ve gone. The actions you took every single day compounded into something great and you had no idea how it came about.
This is the power of habits, this is the power of apply winning habits that makes you a winner.
