For the past 6 months, I’ve been really busy building up this blog site. I’ve been adding lots of great content and spent hundreds of hours fine tuning it and tweaking it.
Upon looking at the top bloggers out there, some of them reveal their income reports and others don’t. I would like to reveal mine.
I believe if you try your best to be as transparent as possible in terms of income online, you achieve the following:
- You demonstrate to people that making money online is real.
- You portray a real image of what it takes to make passive income.
- Your readers trust you with what you’re saying.
- You’re sharing great information that’s helpful.
- It’s pretty awesome sharing your success as well.
- It keeps you accountable.
In this report, I’ll share with you my key lessons of what it takes to make this particular type of income online.
Here’s a screen shot of my passive income today.
My main monetization method I used is Google Adsense. I know many bloggers and website owners shy away from Google Adsense, mainly because it generates so little income.
While it is true that you generate incredibly low amounts of income when you’re first starting out such as 1 cent – 10 cents, this usually discourages you to bother producing income through this method.
However, the way I see it is that income produced online in terms of passive income is free money. You didn’t actively work for it, it was made while I was eating dinner, watching a movie, playing video games and fooling around.
One of my mentors once said that if you can get your website to make just $10 a month in passive income, that is a wonderful step to be in. The reason is because if you can make it to $10, then you can make it to $20, then $50, then $100 then pretty soon, you’ll be making $1,000 to $5,000 per month.
The system is there, you just need to scale it higher and work your butt off again.
I started monetizing my site on the 4th month. Although I have definitely made sales through my ebooks, courses and audio programs, what my main focus for this year is to build up my passive income through advertisements.
In order to do this, I would need to produce quality content that generates traffic and is helpful for people. Then and only then, I would then begin to advertise.
There is a common myth that advertising pushes readers away. Upon testing, my traffic and readers have continued to read my site and I haven’t lost any traffic and visitors. However, you can go overboard by plastering advertising everywhere on your site. You need to find a good balance between monetization and readership.
When I first started monetizing the site, I wasn’t earning that much income per week. I was making around 50 cents per week which was really discouraging. However, I kept working at it and today it’s generating between $1 – $5 per day.
My goal is to achieve the $8.5 per day mark by the end of the year. As you can see, my income from last month to this month has grown and hopefully, if all goes well, it will keep growing as the months roll on.
I’ve also heard from many people that income tends to double after a few months. Even if you’re not creating content, income just doubles out of nowhere. I’m hoping to double my income in a few months while creating more content.
To get to this point of monetization, it took me lots of hard work and determination. I worked on my site for at least 1 hour per day by creating content and tweaking it.
Making money online is real but takes work.
