Throughout my entrepreneurial life, I’ve come across many challenges and obstacles that has stopped me from achieving the results I’ve wanted. For example, a dream I’ve always had was to publish my first book.

When I first dreamt of publishing my first book, it took me around 2 years before I finally sat down and started banging away on the keyboard. I learnt about writing a book before by attending courses but one of the biggest things that held me back were my beliefs.

My beliefs of not being a good enough expert in my industry. I thought to myself that I needed at least 10 years in the business to write my own book. I thought that I needed to be older. I thought that I needed to more credibility to write my own book.

With all those limiting beliefs roaming around in my head, I never wrote a single word on paper for 2 years. It’s actually pretty sad to think back to that because we all have limiting beliefs in our minds that completely paralyzes us from taking action.

After writing the book for 3 years, I finally found a publisher in America and we published my book “How To Increase Your Website Traffic”. A few months later, it became top 10 ordered book on Barnes and Noble and it was featured all over the world in bookstores.

The book was also featured on TV, Radio and Magazines and I sold so many copies.

It’s actually sad to look back and realize that those 2 years of my life were wasted on not believing in myself and not taking action on my dreams. It also makes you wonder that there are so many limiting beliefs roaming around in our minds that are holding us back from achieving something great.

How Limiting Beliefs Affects Your Life

Let’s say that you’ve always wanted to start a business but your limiting belief is that you don’t have the cash and experience to do so. That belief can really hold you back and maybe in 2 years time, you’ll finally launch but you could of launched immediately and learnt many things along the way.

So how do you get out and smash through your own limiting beliefs?

You become an inspired entrepreneur.

By surrounding yourself with motivational and inspirational material, this will propel your success in so ways you can’t imagine.

I’ve you’ve ever dreamt of starting a business, seek out mentors and stories that involve people who hated their jobs and started a side business and made it incredibly successful. If you’ve dreamed of helping people, look for inspirational stories of people who have helped change the world for the better. Whatever your case may be, there’s always someone out there who has already walked your path.

You should never neglect inspiration, inspiration is the fuel for taking action and staying positive.

Inspired Entrepreneur

Imagine if you surrounded yourself with people who were always critical of you and negative of everything. They hate the weather, they hate people, they hate the company, they hate everyone. They come up with a long list of reasons why something doesn’t work instead of a long list of solutions.

If you spent a long period of time with these unsupportive people, then what are the chances of you trying to start a business? If you mentioned you’ll be starting a business, what would their response be?

“You can’t start a business, you don’t have the skills, you don’t have the credibility, you don’t have the experience” etc.

As Robert Kiyosaki says, “you can’t talk to these people because they will gang up on you and tell you all the reasons why things don’t work”. So part of the success puzzle is to surround yourself supportive and inspirational people.

When I first started in setting goals, I always made sure I fed my mind with only positive mentors and stories who’ve already achieved what I wanted. I honestly didn’t have any room for negative people because the attainment of my goal was so important.

As an entrepreneur, you should continually feed your mind with inspirational and motivational material. You need to be an inspired entrepreneur.

I must say that nearly all of the goals that I’ve achieved where dreamt of years prior and I continually read stories of people who achieved what I wanted.

I remember clearly to this day that I was searching online for travel destinations. I came across a photo of this guy touring Tokyo and he recommended checking out a place called “Harajuku lane”. Harajuku lane is a place where many people dress up for fashion.

I saw a photo of a tourist standing next to a Harajuku girl. The photo alone just really blew my mind for I’ve never seen such an awesome photo.

That photo really made an impact on me and really inspired me to travel to Tokyo and check out this famous Harajuku lane. A few months later, I forgot about the photo and ended up traveling around Asia. I arrived in Tokyo and decided to walk around.

I ended up in Harajuku lane and finally remember the photo that inspired me many months ago. I took a photo with a Harajuku girl and when I reviewed the photos, I realised that I was in the same stance as the person I was looking at.

Here’s the photo I took a few months after I saw the photo.
